We recently returned from our trip to Disneyland and I put together a video montage of various gadgets and gizmos we saw there. I particularly love the old-fashioned feel of Main Street. The penny video machine thingies still just take a penny. You crank the handle and the little pictures flip. Simple, yet effective.

I have never been to Disneyland but I have feeling I would love it very much.

I love riding the carousel!!

We had a blast. It was the first time for my twins.
Even though my daughter Fiona discovered she loves fast rides, like her sister, she remains a carousel enthusiast. :)

The fact that there is an entire world beneath the amusement park -- with the workers scuttling back and forth in the dark corridors, repair shops bristling with activity, and dark corners where daemons and beasties {all too real in fang and claw} might lurk -- it has always fascinated me.

I haven't been able to find a map of the employee and repair complex beneath Disneyland -- or I would have written a short story or fantasy novel there a long time ago.

Glad you enjoyed yourself, Roland

Thanks for visiting my blog and following it, Roland

Oh Roland, that reminds me of a short film just posted on The Steampunk Tribune blog. http://www.steampunktribune.com/2010/04/steamworks-disney-imagination.html

I think the fact that the map of the underworkings of Disneyland is secret makes it an even more interesting idea for a very cool steampunk fantasy adventure. I guess you'd have to invent your own landscape and not call it Disney.
