The Wordsmith Journal is an awesome site. In addition to short stories, they have columns/blogs, author interviews, and book reviews. They like to feature books and stories with a moral message.

Cool! My tired brain read it as the "Gratified Door" at first though, and I thought of the happy doors on the Heart of Gold. It sure seems like one you could expand into a longer work if you want one day. Plenty of conflict still waiting I would bet. Nice.

Is this the one that changed editors on you , or is that story still pending?

Thank you, Angie! :)

Kara, that's so funny. :) And no, that story is still pending. They had some computer trouble over there--hackers messed up their system. But as far as I know, it will one day be published. :p

Oh! ~bouncing up and down~ I LOVED IT! You did SUCH a great job of painting the characters. :) I could even see the mother, though she was never more than a voice offstage. What a great story to end my day. :)
